Singapore is considered a shopping paradise. With very compact dimensions, virtually no sales taxes and a highly cosmopolitan population, it attracts some of the worlds top brands and most exciting boutiques to its shores.

The best time for shopping in Singapore is during the GSS or Great Singapore Sale in which it seems that the whole of Singapore goes on sale and there are great deals and bargains galore.

The GSS is held from May though to July, although the exact dates do change each year. One point to take note is that tourists can claim the sales tax / GST on their purchases when then leave the country this amounts to 7% of the purchase price.
